The Kir Royale is a variation of the Kir, a classic French cocktail that combines fruit liqueur and white wine. In a Kir Royale, champagne is used instead of wine, which gives it a little something extra, and makes you feel fancy when you drink it. This drink is typically used as an apéritif (a cocktail served before a meal).

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 oz Crème de Cassis or other fruit liqueur (options include Crème de Muir, Crème de Framboise, Crème de Pêche, or Chambord)

  • 6 oz Champagne, chilled

  • Fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or other fruit (optional)

Directions:
  1. Pour your favorite fruit liqueur into the glass first. You really don't even need to measure, just a splash will do.

  2. Drop in a few pieces of fruit if you want it to look pretty.

  3. Top with champagne.

  4. Drink immediately.

Serve in:

Champagne flute or wine glass
